About
I like trying new recipes at home, but when I search for recipes online I find myself barraged with irrelevant content. Sometimes I will be digging though an author's life story to find how long to cook a chicken breast at. Other times, there's so many ads on the page, finding the recipe no longer than cooking it. Does this happen to you too?
Given this problem, I decided to come up with a solution in the form of a cookbook app design.
Introducing...
The Foodlove App makes the process of finding a good recipe easy and seamless. The app will even save your favorite recipes which can be easily accessed later. You can also save ingredients using this app. Easily add and remove ingredients for recipes to make grocery lists that you can access anywhere.

Project Brief
Users
User 1 is an amateur/home cook and needs an app to organize recipes. They are tech savvy and would like a digital option that's easy to use.
User 2 is a 20-35 years old who is constrained for time and money and needs cheap and easy recipes to start cooking from home.
User 3 is the caretaker for their family and needs to find easy recipes to save and use for meal planning

Business
The business and culture of cooking at home is increasing. The largest groups to start cooking at home are Millennials and GenZ. One of the purposes of this app is to make finding recipes and cooking more inclusive to this demographic.
It might be innovative to create an easy and fun interface that works on a mobile platform.
The content of this app is recipes and ingredients, but it behaves and is designed like a dating app.

Prototype Testing
Methodology
I was able to test one user in person and another user remotely. Both users were in the target age range for the app and had some experience cooking at home. I was unable to test both users in person due to the COVID19 pandemic.  My methodology with the in person user was to watch them while they navigated the app. My methodology with the second user was for them to share their screen over video chat while they navigated the app.

Participants
The first user was a male in his early 30's who cooked several times per week. The second user was a female in her mid twenties who cooked for herself and her son three to four times per week.

Themes and Implications
Users were observed completing tasks in the app and asked a series of questions afterwards. Their feedback was taken and integrated to improve the design of the FoodLove app
